MECHANIC-MAINTENANCE

Hours 6:00 pm - 6:00 am 8 openings in crew 2 Sunday-Wednesday 8 openings in crew 4 Wednesday-Saturday Rate of Pay: $21.32 Location: West Tulsa SUMMARY: Diagnose, repair, adjust, or maintain any industrial manufacturing machinery, such as sheet metal machines, engines, pneumatic tools, and conveyor systems in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturing specifications using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments; perform facility/building maintenance, such as plumbing, maintain HVAC equipment and facility lighting ; install & complete construction projects . Able to communicate effectively and work as member of a maintenance organization . Essential Job Responsibilities: The following is a list of the essential duties and responsibilities that are expected of the maintenance mechanic; however, additional duties may be assigned, as required. Electrical: • Safely measure voltage, current and power in AC and DC circuits. • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot controls and electrical faults on machinery. • Able to do basic wiring and understand wire gauges. • Basic knowledge of NEC/UL codes. • Able to use a computer and diagnostic software to diagnose electrical an.d automation problems. Mechanical: • Align, install, and maintain belt drives and pulleys; chain and sprocket drives; shaft assemblies; pillow block bearings; various coup lings. • Install/replace motors. • Understand air and water systems • Maintain all types of HVAC equipment. Basic knowledge of all types of refrigerant; charge/recover refrigerant, use refrigerant gauges, adjust VFD/controls, change filters, able to properly apply agency knowledge for HVAC equipment. Pneumatic: • Align , install, maintain pneumatic lines/hoses. • Adjust and regulate pressures. • Check operation of water separator/drain in a pneumatic system, as necessary. • Diagnose/repair compressors/vacuum pumps. Heating Coaling Products Plumbing: • Basic pipe fitting knowledge (understand pipe sizes, fittings, thread types, etc.) • Able to use a pipe threader. • Able to troubleshoot and repair basic household plumbing issues such as clogs, leaks, sensors , fixtures. Hydraulic: • Understand fluid contamination prevention processes and procedures. • Install, repair and maintain pumps, hoses, valves, cylinders, filters, regulators , seals. Welding: • Basic knowledge of metal materials, welding rods, and welding procedures. • Able to recognize and use proper safety equipment used in welding. • Able to recognize mig and tig welding equipment. General Construction: • Ability to use basic power tools safely. • Ability to use measuring tape properly (both standard and metric). • Ability to use basic mathematical skills/calculations to support construction projects. • Ability to do basic framing, mount sheet rock, install ceiling grids and tiles. • Ability to do basic industrial sanding, painting, and staining. • Ability to do basic landscaping . • Ability to do basic construction estimates/takeoff . Other: • Must conduct all work on premises. • Able to regularly work in dusty factory environment subject to extreme heat and cold tempe ratures. • Must be able to work well with others in a team environment to problem solve and provide backup as needed. • Must be able to work at heights exceeding 3 ft. Education and Experience Requirements: An individual in this position has attained a minimum of HS diploma/GED to meet entry-level requirements and has completed certification in any of the skilled maintenance trades (ex. Electrical, Millwright, Plumber/Pipefitter, HVAC, Welder, Sheet Metal). Education beyond the minimum is an added advantage for career development activities. The individual will have a minimum of 1-3 years industrial maintenance experience, facility maintenance experience, or construction experience. Individual should also have a basic understanding of computers including Microsoft Office, such as Outlook, Word, Excel and should know how to search, send electronic communication , find files, etc. Individual needs to be able to learn and use preventive maintenance software for scheduling and monitoring various equipment throughout the factory . The individual should have hands-on experience with all types of equipment controls and basic NESC, UL/ETL knowledge (to include electrical , pneumatic, hydraulic, etc.). Current material Heating lit. Coaling Products handling certification, Lock Out/Tag Out, Lifting & Rigging, preventive or predictive maintenance or any journeyman/trades licensing is preferred. Certificates, Licenses, Registration Requirements: License(s): None Certification(s): Vo-Tech certificate in any of the skilled maintenance trades (ex. Electrical, Millwright, Plumber/Pipefitter, HVAC, Welder, Sheet Metal). Other Certifications: None Successful job incumbents will consistently demonstrate competency when engaged in the following critical tasks: • Evaluate corrective maintenance/repair on machinery. • Continuous successful pursuit of and completion of the designated maintenance education program.
